Qur'an
“Knowledge is the awareness of a thing with reference to its reality.”
What is Qur'an?
The Qur’an (Arabic: القرآن‎ al-qur’ān), literally means "the recitation”.The Qur'an is the
most often-read book in the world. Revealed by Allah (God) to the Prophet Muhammad
Sall Allāhu alay-hi wa-sallam.It is the last Divine Book which was revealed, and for that
reason, Allah, the Exalted, promised to protect it from any distortion until the Last Day.
Allah says:
Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'ân) and surely,
We will guard it (from corruption).(15:9)
The Quran includes all the legislations which reform society and guarantees happiness
for all in its implementation.
The Quran has documented the stories of the Prophets and Messengers, and what
happened between them and their peoples, from Adam till Muhammad
Sall Allāhu
alay-hi wa-sallam
It was revealed to all of mankind so that they would live a life of peace and happiness,
and to take them out of darkness and bring them into the light.

The Qur'an was revealed in portions almost in 23 year. The Prophet received the first
revelation in 610 CE, in the Cave of Hira in the Mountain of Light (Jabal-e-Noor), two
and a half miles away from the House of Allah in the city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia.

Surah Al-Fatiha (The Opening Chapter) was the first complete chapter to be revealed
and Surah An-Nasr was the last.
The chapters revealed before the migration of the Prophet to Madina are called Makkan,
whereas those sent down after the migration are called Madinan.
